Create projects
Set up projects with names and colours in the dashboard.

Check in with one
Choose the project in /checkin. Servers can require a project so nothing is recorded uncategorised.

Switch when the work changes
Run /switch and choose the next project. Clocky saves the time on the previous project and immediately starts the next segment.

Read the breakdown
Dashboard analytics show where hours went, by project and by member.

Export it
Download the selected period as a filtered CSV.
Which plans include this
Projects are a paid feature. Premium includes up to 100 projects; Pro and Lifetime have no configured project cap. Free servers do not have projects. Project analytics and CSV export are also paid features.
Common questions
Can I switch projects while checked in?
Yes. Run /switch and select the project. Earlier time stays on the previous project, and the new project starts immediately. Selecting the current project leaves your timer unchanged. If you are on break, run /break end first.
How does a switch affect my hours and session count?
A switch saves one work segment and starts another. Work from 09:00 to 10:30 on Support, then 10:30 to 12:00 on Website, totals 3 hours across 2 sessions. Counts and averages describe those segments, just as they do after breaks. Use /status for today’s total and /history to see each project.
Does switching restart auto-close?
Yes. Auto-close counts from the start of the new work segment. With a 12-hour setting, switching at 10:30 gives the new segment a 22:30 cutoff, handled by the regular auto-close job. Selecting the current project does not reset the countdown.
How many projects can we have?
Premium includes up to 100. Pro and Lifetime have no configured cap. The Free plan does not include projects.
Can we force people to pick a project?
Yes. A server can require a project on check-in. If someone checks in without one, Clocky explains why it stopped and points at the project option, privately.
What format are exports in?
CSV, matching the filters you have applied to the analytics view. Exporting is available on paid plans.
Can we see time per project across the whole team?
Yes. Project analytics break down hours by project and by member across the period you select.
