Discord-native versus full timesheet suite

Clocky vs Clockify: Discord time tracking or a full work app?

Clocky and Clockify can both turn time into reports, but they start from opposite assumptions. Clocky makes Discord the daily time clock. Clockify is a broad web, desktop, mobile, kiosk, billing, and workforce platform that a team adopts as a separate work system.

The short answer

Which should you choose?

Choose Clocky when your team already operates in Discord and adoption, simplicity, deliberate tracking, and flat server pricing matter most. Choose Clockify when you need desktop/mobile apps, invoicing, billable rates, scheduling, approvals, GPS, kiosk, or enterprise controls.

Pricing at a glance

Clocky

$0 for 5 rolling active users; Premium $4.99/server/month; Pro $9.99/server/month; Lifetime $149.99.

Clockify

“Not listed” is not the same as “does not exist.” It means we did not find a public claim for that feature in the official sources reviewed below.

This is mainly an adoption decision

Clocky puts the frequent action in the place the team already coordinates. A manager publishes one Duty Panel, a member presses Check in, and the record starts. The dashboard is there for reporting, but it is not another daily workspace members must learn.

Clockify offers more ways to track: web, desktop, mobile, browser extension, timesheets, and kiosk. That breadth is valuable for a conventional business rollout. It also means the team is adopting a dedicated time platform rather than adding a small workflow to Discord.

Clockify is far more capable outside Discord

Clockify supports clients, tasks, billable rates, invoices, labor costs, profitability, approvals, scheduling, time off, integrations, identity controls, audit logs, data regions, and optional monitoring features depending on plan. Clocky does not pretend to replace that suite.

Clocky’s narrower system records deliberate sessions, breaks, attendance, projects, and exports for Discord-based groups. If the purchasing checklist includes invoicing or enterprise workforce controls, Clockify wins. If the key problem is “people forget to open our separate timesheet app,” Clocky attacks the more important failure mode.

Pricing diverges quickly as a paid team grows

Clockify’s reviewed pricing says the Free plan lets the owner invite up to four people. Basic is $3.99 per seat per month when billed annually or $4.99 billed monthly, with higher per-seat tiers for time-off, approvals, scheduling, screenshots, GPS, SSO, and other controls.

Clocky Free also supports five rolling active users. Clocky Premium is $4.99 per server per month for up to 100 active users, and Pro is $9.99 per server per month with no configured active-user cap. At ten occupied seats, Clockify Basic billed monthly is $49.90 before tax; Clocky Premium remains $4.99. That comparison reflects different product scope, not an equivalent feature bundle.

Deliberate tracking versus optional monitoring

Clocky never uses Discord presence, voice activity, message content, screenshots, GPS, or keyboard and mouse activity to create time. A person explicitly starts a session, and that boundary is central to the product.

Clockify offers optional controls such as GPS tracking, kiosk login photos, and screenshots on applicable plans. Those features can meet legitimate field-work or accountability requirements when deployed with an appropriate policy. Teams that actively do not want monitoring will find Clocky’s smaller, explicit model easier to explain.

Bottom line

Clocky is not a cheaper clone of Clockify. It is a different answer for teams whose operational home is Discord. It wins on daily friction, understandable consent, and flat server pricing.

Clockify wins on product breadth, platform coverage, billing, workforce controls, and enterprise administration. Choose it when those capabilities are requirements. Choose Clocky when a simple Discord check-in habit and a useful hour report solve the real problem.

Evidence

Sources and methodology

We compare the public product, pricing, documentation, and app-directory pages available on the review date. We do not infer an absent feature unless the competitor explicitly says it is unavailable; “not listed” means exactly that.
